Best place to rent a room with roommates or live out of a car in Metro Los Angeles?

I know Los Angeles is one of the most expensive areas to live in even in the worst ghetto spots. However, I put in a transfer to a few California cities since I know I can make more money in California than where I am now. If I need too, Ill get a 2nd job outthere too make a living. Im open to living at least 1 hour maybe 2 hours driving outside of LA. Preferablly month to month living even if its in a ghetto weekly or monthly motel.
