At what point does a wager become a Pascal's Long Shot?

Yesterday marked about 72,000 out of 72,000 days that were not the long-predicted "soon coming" end. That has to hurt the odds even to the bookies that have inside information. I'm thinking even the owners will soon be betting against that nag ever coming in.
